Kempiniski Mokuti Experience Week

Kempiniski Mokuti hosted an Experience Week to the local tourist industry, which Sense of Africa were very keen in participating.
We departed from Windhoek at 7am and arrived in time for lunch in the Etambi pool bar, resident Bontebok feasted within touching distance, a relaxing spa treatment then followed.
We then were given a full inspection of the property. The newly renovated rooms have adopted there natural surroundings of the grey stones found on the property, Spider furniture and lighting has been uniquely designed to compliment the room and enhance the atmosphere of your safari surroundings.  We then visited the resident Ontouka Reptile Park, with very interesting snake species that are best seen from behind glass. Sundowners followed with a toasty camp fire and story-telling from our guide Gideon Shapaka.
Gerry the Sous Chef, then ushered us to Tambuti Restaurant for our 5 course meal – which featured his Afripean style, fusion of African and European flavours.
As dawn broke the following morning, we climbed into our game vehicle for a journey through Etosha National Park, each group spotting different wonders of nature and enjoy the large lake of water and birdlife in the pan of Etosha National Park. After lunch it was time to bid farewell and travel back to Windhoek, time was just too short!
Thank you Kempinski Mokuti for a wonderful adventure, this educational was extremely informative.
Social Responsibility

Namibia’s Wild Dogs have a recorded dwindling population of between 200- 400 and this is being optimistic.
N/a’an ku se is taking the lead in conserving this predator, they currently have 13 pups at their property 42km east of Windhoek. It is said that the main reasons for the declining population is lack of knowledge, experience with wild dogs and essentially enforcing we act now and not when it’s too late. The funds being collected will be used to gain knowledge from experts across the world on wild dog management and the re-introduction of this species. So a workshop is proposed for October 2011 where professionals are being invited from Botswana, South Africa and Zimbabwe to meet in Namibia and develop a national strategy for using captive stock effectively for the reintroduction of wild dogs to Namibia. The amount required for this workshop is approximately NAD105 190.00 / Euro 10 260.00.
You can email donations@naankuse.com for more information about the Namibian Captive Africa Wild Dog Management Workshop.
