Although Sense of Africa is part of Tourvest, the largest tourism operation in Africa, as a brand we run ourselves as a small owner managed business. We are a dynamic team of enthusiastic individuals, working together to give the client the ultimate in customer service and satisfaction. Our focus is on the needs of the customer and always putting him or her first. We understand that judging the quality in a service or product is not what we put into it, but what you, the customer, gets out of it.
Meet & Greet Service

As part of our personalised service, Sense of Africa offers an optional Meet & Greet service at Hosea Kutako International Airport, Windhoek. Clients are welcomed in the arrival terminal by a Sense of Africa representative with a meet and greet board, after which clients are escorted to their car hire kiosk. After completion of vehicle rental documentation, the Sense of Africa representative will discuss in detail the guests’ itinerary for Namibia, giving comprehensive feedback on any questions and offering advise on routes to be travelled. Alternatively guests can be met at their respective Windhoek accommodation where a full self drive briefing will take place.
Satellite Phone Hire

Guests have the option of hiring satellite phones prior to arrival in Namibia through the offices of Sense of Africa as an extra security measure. Only a small percentage of rural Namibia has cellular telephone coverage, mainly limited to towns and some main roads. A satellite telephone allows calls to be made
and received from any location worldwide and is not restricted to cellular coverage as it allows the user to communicate directly via satellite to any other telephone. This is useful not only as an effective way to stay in touch with relatives while on holiday, but also provides a lifeline in case of emergency. Each satellite telephone
is preprogrammed with emergency numbers, so no matter where you may find yourself, assistance is only a satellite telephone call away.
Passenger Liability & Evacuation Insurance

Sense of Africa provides passenger liability insurance up to N$ 1 Billion and emergency medical evacuation cover on all our vehicles on tour. Emergency medical evacuation covers evacuation to the nearest hospital but does not cover medical costs incurred. Guests accordingly are advised to take out adequate insurance cover for medical treatments and any further emergency transportation costs in their home country.
24-Hour Assistance

Sense of Africa offers an emergency 24-hour, 7 day a week helpline for on the spot decisions and assistance.
This helpline, ++ (0) 81 127 0102, serves as yet another important part of our vision that strives for client service excellence and peace of mind while travelling.
GPS Hire

Guests also have the option of hiring a GPS prior to arrival in Namibia through the offices of Sense of Africa as an extra security measure. Although Namibia serves as a friendly and easy country to traverse, guests may feel more comfortable in knowing their exact position and being reassured that they are travelling the correct roads and in the right direction. The GPS comes complete with detailed maps of Namibia and the rest of Southern Africa, ensuring guests’ peace of mind when travelling.
Audio Guide

Sense of Africa offers its self drive tourists the newly developed audio guide at a daily rate to gain maximum pleasure out of their travels through Namibia. Run on GPS technology, it broadcasts interesting information relevant to the area that the self drive tourist is traversing. In addition to regional information the station also broadcasts fun and light hearted shows that keep tourists informed and entertained and draws attention to various points of interest as tourists approach these places such as restaurants, accommodations or historical landmarks. Most importantly, the guide will alert drivers to road hazards, high accident areas and supply other invaluable road safety information.
Oshoto Lounge

Another value added service offered by Sense of Africa to its clients is the pre-booked access to the Oshoto VIP departure lounge at Hosea Kutako International Airport. After an exhilarating safari and prior to a long haul flight, enjoy your airport hours in the comfort and convenience of a VIP lounge regardless of choice of airline, class of ticket or membership of an airline program. Avoid long queues of tourists, high airport refreshment prices and enjoy the following comforts:
