The entire Sense of Africa Team are great Welwitschia Supporters, since our National Rugby Team continuously represents our country with determination and passion. At this point in time the team did not manage to win one game but all critics acknowledge the spirit that our team displayed with every game! We are very proud of our boys! more |

We celebrate Hereo’s Day tomorrow, 26h August 2011, in Namibia, this holiday serves as a reminder about the fight for freedom and independence which Namibia secured in 1990. There are many cultural and music performances commencing in Gobabis this year, a crowd of 6000 are anticipated. On the 04th September 2011, our Namibian clocks, will change back to UTC +2. This August we still have lots of water in Etosha National Park where the birdlife is abundant. We also have sightings of Southern Right whales and Blue whales in our Walvis Bay harbour, they’ve travelled from Antartica to give birth, they are expected to remain in the Walvis Bay area for approximately three months. more |

Namibia has experienced yet again more summer rains throughout the month of Februray causing many rivers to flow, and some damage to roads. Many rivers that were dry for years, such as the Tsauchab into Sossusvlei, and the desert is looking green and abundant with life.Again there is also some important establishment news, which we share with you this month. Namibia is coloured electric green at this time of year, having received much rain in January, the country is absolutely stunning and growth and young animals are abundant and very visible.

Sense of Africa, dressed in Pink, for Cancer Awareness month. Pink is the colour associated with the Cancer Awareness campaign and a large contribution was collected and given to the Cancer Association of Namibia, which was founded in 1968.
